Has this ever happened to you? Your business growth is stuck. You’re working yourself to the bone but nothing seems to work the way you wanted it to. It seems like you’re doing all the right things but somehow…it’s just not coming together. You are probably experiencing some growth blockers.

Growth blockers are things that we unconsciously do, often thinking that they are the right things to do, that ultimately cut off the growth of our business.

Here are some of the signs you may be experiencing a growth blocker:

  • You generate consistent cash flow but it’s very hard work to keep it up.
  • You feel like you have JOB vs. a business you can walk away from at any time.
  • You spend more than 50% of your time doing things you don’t like to do.
  • Your days are filled with answering tons of questions from your team…but you very rarely get to anything on your own list.
  • You are saying NO to lucrative or important opportunities because you have no bandwidth of resources to pursue the opportunities.
  • You have no time to spend visioning the future of the business because you are putting out fires.
  • You feel really frustrated and stuck that you can’t move past your current level of success.

Did you say yes to at least one thing on this list? Then you are experiencing growth blockers. Here are five growth blockers that may be impacting you right now:

  1. Having insufficient revenue or capital available. Growth often requires an investment of time and money. If you don’t have access to the cash to grow, it can make you feel stuck.
  2. Lack of a proper business team or systems for growth. A common mistake is relying on the team and systems you have today to propel you forward. 99% of the time this won’t work. You can’t grow bigger relying on what got you to this point.
  3. Being stuck in the wrong “role” in your business. Are you leading…or doing? Not realizing what your real role entails can render you hopeless for high 6 & 7 figures.
  4. A limited view of what’s possible. Often we are so used to seeing our business the way it is that we miss golden opportunities for more leverage or massive growth. Or for many, everyone you spend time with has a similar business model and you are missing the opportunity to discover new ideas.
  5. Experiencing diminished energy or enthusiasm. This is the kiss of death for an entrepreneur. Being tired is often a result of working too hard or losing your passion for your business. Both are equally detrimental to your ability to think big.

Here is my proven strategy to eliminate these growth blockers. Take a step back, schedule 2 – 3 days away from your business and realign with your big mission again. Then map out the strategies and action items necessary to soar in a big way. It works every time. And it works even better with a mastermind or coach helping you.

I did this back in December and it had a huge positive impact on my business. As a matter of fact, I mapped out a $5million dollar business plan that is achievable in just under 2 years. But I never could have done it if I allowed these growth blockers to continue to sap my potential.

If you are ready to take this step, but know you won’t do it alone, then join us April 3 – 5 for The CEO Factor Retreat. My partner and I will be facilitating this experience for a small group of entrepreneurs.

Melanie – so glad I saw this…When I don’t feel like bouncing out of bed with an idea – more than just a habitual urge to go check my email, but to actually write something, do something, create something – I know something’s wrong. Burning out is an icky feeling – and thank you for these substantive ideas for recognizing when you’re going down that ineffective path and turning it around. Thanks, Rori
