Strategy #2 for a Seven-Figure New Year

As a success coach I often get asked what I believe is the key to success. While I think there are many things we do and habits and behaviors we practice that influence our success, there is one thing that I can look to as being one of the most significant factors in my success not just in my work, but in every area of my life and that is CONSISTENCY.
Much like reaching a certain goal weight or accomplishing a certain number of unassisted pull ups at the gym is not about the amount of calories consumed on a single day or a single workout but rather the cumulative effect that happens over time, success in our business does not come overnight and it does not come by the implementation of a single strategy. It comes as a result of intelligent and deliberate action on a daily basis over a period of time.
Consistency is part of what will shift people from a place of struggle to a place where stellar results become frequent.
For example, I’ve struggled to maintain a healthy body and weight for over 6 years. About 14 months ago, I joined a gym and hired a trainer. I got decent results…but I still wasn’t consistent with doing WHAT WORKED. I was putting minimal effort in yet expecting amazing results. So, I made a commitment 3 months ago to be consistent with my cardio and get at least 4 – 5 workouts in every week. Shazam. Like magic I hit my ideal target quickly.
Think about how consistent you are being in your marketing, in your sales efforts, in your planning, and in your team development. Now look at your results. Where are you doing enough to just get by vs. having consistency that would lead to stellar results? Are you making it a point every single week to review what you are doing or set an intention for what you will do? (oh, and a little hint, you don’t have to do it all yourself either.)
What are the things you know you need to do on a consistent basis to accomplish your goals and create the lifestyle business you want?

Taking steps on a regular basis- consistency- builds momentum. However, most people eventually get to a difficult place where it is seems too hard to go on and our initial enthusiasm for a project wears thin. I feel that persistence is also of major importance in being successful. Getting past that difficult stage separates the successful from the average person. Having a thick skin also helps, so that when others would try to make you feel bad you stick to your principles and work, knowing that you are making a difference to your target market.

Hi Melanie,
Thank you for the confirmation! I’ve been been feeling ’stuck’ lately and couldn’t figure out what my next step should be after making a decision. Consistency is what was missing for me- a major (CEO) factor, but so easy to forget.
Thanks again for all of your insight,
Mashal

You are right! Now I need to figure out how to solve a potential problem that I think may be a issue. I’m not sure it will be a issue, is this my “fear” again?

Sharron, I’m not sure I have enough info to answer your question but one way to know if it’s “fear” is if you have enough info to make the decision or are you holding back for “Unknown” reasons. CEO’s gather the knowledge they need to make a quick decision…then pull the trigger quickly!

Hi Melanie,
Thank-you for sharing your experience. It is so true. One of the items I have been working on is a DMO that I will commit to. Success does depend on repeating what works and adjusting those activities that are not productive. It is like putting pieces of a puzzle together and seeing the picture develop, gaining momentum in the process. Makes life exciting, yes?
All the best,
Marie
